Students with Prior Experience

An applicant may be allowed to enter the program at a level equal to or greater than the number of years registered as an apprentice with the State of Michigan.

Transferring from another Program

Upon the approval of the School Director, credit may be given to an applicant for prior training. The applicant shall provide transcripts for proof of prior training.

Course Completion Time Line

Students are permitted to complete each course at a personal rate. However, to satisfy State and Federal requirements, each course must be completed within the maximum time limit as indicated.

All students are required to supply the necessary working materials to complete the training, including but not limited to the following:

  • Computer with High Speed Internet Access
  • Computer Speakers or Headphones
  • Copy of the 2023 National Electrical Code

Classroom Option

We offer an 8 week Journeyman License Prep Class in Madison Heights, that has been fully approved by the Federal DOL and the State of Michigan to be a part of the Apprentice Training Program. These classes run throughout the year and are designed to prepare you for the State / City exams.

No Need for Financial Aid!

This program breaks down the courses into individual modules (subjects) and allows the student to pay for one subject at a time.  First time students can get started with as little as $580.

Registration

Students can enroll anytime throughout the year. The program Is all online, therefore enrollment is continuous. All books will be mailed to students after registering and payment.
